Tourist Route

tour course

This is a recommended walking course that will take you around the city in about half a day.

North Course

Located north of Izumiotsu, this course passes through a large waterfront park and the historic Sukematsu Shrine, and then you can work up a sweat at bowling and other activities along the way, before relaxing in a hot spring.

West Course

A course to enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace. After enjoying the scenery from Nagisa Park along the sea to Hama-kaido, where the old streetscape remains, you can relax and unwind from the day’s fatigue at Hamanoyu Onsen.

East Course

This is a course where you can feel history through experiences. You can try out the ancient Japanese drumming, visit Sone Shrine, the oldest in the city, and learn about the culture of the Yayoi period.
　

South Course

This is a course where you can have a variety of experiences. You can experience the traditional weaving and knitting culture of Izumiotsu. Since it is a course that is a little far, we recommend that you rent a bicycle at Izumiotsu Station!

Shrine Course

This tour guide focuses on four shrines within the city, offering a way to gain a deep understanding of the history and culture of Izumiotsu.



There’s a stone statue of Izumi-otsu’s mascot, “Ozumin.”

East Course

Japanese Taiko Kyomeian

This shop sells a wide variety of festival supplies and danjiri goods, so you can trust them with anything related to Izumiotsu’s danjiri!
If you make a reservation, you can also experience playing the Japanese drums. Give it a try!

Ikegami Sone Yayoi Learning Center

This is a facility where you can experience “Yayoi period craftsmanship.” Why not try making your own original earthenware or Magmata? (Reservation required)

Ikegami Sone Historic Park

It is a moated settlement from the middle of the Yayoi period, covering a vast area of approximately 600,000 square meters.
Inside the moat there are a group of post-hole buildings, with a large post-hole building in the centre.
By 2000 a total of seven buildings had been restored, and by 2001 various remains had been restored, making it a spot where you can experience what it was like at the time.

Sone Shrine

This shrine is said to be the oldest in the Izumiotsu city.
It is home to camphor trees, designated as protected trees under the city’s environmental conservation ordinance.

Ozumin bronze statue

A bronze statue of Izumi-otsu City’s mascot, “Ozumin,” has been installed. It was created with the hope that the textile industry in Izumi-otsu City will continue to develop.

Izumiotsu City Library SHEEPLA

It is a lively library with space for group study and eating. Wi-Fi and power outlets are also available, making it a great place to work or study.

Oriamucan(Weaving Museum)

Texpia Osaka has three halls and eight conference rooms for events, meetings, exhibitions, etc. The mural at the entrance is very impressive!

The facility has a textile theme and allows visitors to experience the traditional industries, history, and culture of Izumiotsu City through weaving and knitting. You can even try your hand at weaving if you make a reservation.

Izumi Anashi Shrine

Don’t miss this shrine with over 1300 years of history!
The large camphor trees designated as a natural monument are magnificent!
A stone statue of a sheep will welcome you as you enter.

Qanat Mall Izumi Fuchu

A shopping mall with a supermarket and specialty shops. It’s a mall you’ll want to visit every day.
You can buy ingredients for dinner, get takeout, or eat at one of the restaurants in Qanat Mall. Whatever you choose, you’re sure to have a delicious dinner!
